Let's imagine the following scenario. You have created a very large document and you would like to share it, by sending it through email or copying it on a memory device. Unfortunately, the document is too large to be sent through email or to fit on a USB memory device. The same goes for a large image file. In these situations, you could use the PowerShrink application. Looking a few seconds at the program's name will make you guess what it is about.

It's a simple Windows application which allows you to shrink and optimize almost any document or image file format, for making it easier to share. The application is very simple to install and also simple to use. After installing and running the program, the user will notice a simple interface which includes three graphical buttons. These buttons allow opening several files at the same time, optimizing them and also sending them through email directly, using the Windows default email client.

Optionally, the user can choose the level of optimization using the slider located in the lower part of the interface. By default, the compression level is set as lossless, but the user can easily customize this and set the optimization level at a higher level. Still, having a stronger optimization level selected can have an effect over the quality of the image files and graphics included inside a document.

The user can also set a custom compression level, which offers him total control over the optimization details. For making it easier to find a certain document that needs optimizing, PowerShrink features a search tool which is more advanced than the one included in Windows. The search tool allows setting different types of filter for finding a certain type of document or image file.

Pros:
It can optimize almost any document format and image file. Besides that, it includes various optimization levels and allows the user to create a custom level, offering him complete control over the process. Furthermore, optimized documents and images can be sent through email directly from the program's interface. Moreover, a fully-featured search tool is included in the program, for finding a certain type of document fast.

Cons:
The custom optimization level may seem difficult to use for some inexperienced computer users.
